“We should hang out sometime!”
Yes, let’s—
that is, unless
if that’s how you
really meant it?
Is it casual speak?
Forward honesty?
Or a formality and
I’m the casualty?
Second guesses
leave me guessing
the smile I thought
just seemed genuine.
But I leave empty-handed
with a smile to part.
And I wonder who
she really is at heart.
…I wish people meant who they were.
