As a bigger girl, I've never got to look into the life of someone with a thinner body type. I was always told to eat less and to exercise more. But I always was curious on what the other side of the spectrum looked like. This piece of writing captured it perfectly. It gave me a new understanding that there really is no perfect body, you will always be made fun of. This is because society will always rip you apart. But it's important that we change this norm. Let us make it normal to spread positivity and kindness. Who's with me?

Ugh, I'm so sorry you've had your own not-so-great experiences with other people's opinions on your weight. I really don't think anyone is immune to criticism (both internal and external), even if they have society's "perfect" body type. I agree that we could all be better with spreading kindness--especially to ourselves. :)

Thank you for your vulnerability. Body shaming is not reserved for any specific body type or weight .

I have been called a twig, been told “your butt is getting flat” after Zumba class, and “you must be on a diet you’re so skinny.”

Thank you for your insights and for teaching the world what matters most, our hearts and souls and ability to live with joy

Ugh, I relate to the twig one. I don’t understand people’s desire to comment on our bodies! But truly, life is so much more than our weight. As long as we feel good and are healthy, I truly believe our bodies are something we should be always working to be thankful for. What a blessing to live and experience this life!

Yes! I agree! After pregnancy, my body changed a lot and jt gave me a lot of insecurity until I shifted my perspective. My body is a blessing and a miracle - it protected and nourished two children, and was a vessel for love for them.

Pregnancy is a wild experience. If we expect to be the same as we were we’ll only find disappointment… but if we choose to embrace it, we find so much appreciation for ourselves!

such a nice confessional, testimony, inside peek and then encouragement! Like a refreshment salad (with plumpness calories and soul-plumping hormone) ...
